IFFCO operates its own 163 Farmer Service Centres (FSCs) or Kisan Seva Kendra spread over 9 states – Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh and West Bengal. These centres, apart from supply of fertilisers, seeds, agro-chemicals etc under one roof, also serve as the contact point for providing technical know-how to farmers.
During the year 2014-15 alone, these FSCs sold 6.13 lakh tonne of fertilizers or roughly seven percent of the total fertilisers sold by IFFCO. Besides, plant nutients, these FSCs also organized need based promotional programmes such as farmer meetings,soil test campaigns and demonstrations, etc. in the villages around the FSC with a view to disemminate the message of balanced and efficient use of fertilisers. Literature in local language on the package of recommended practices for various crops, balanced use of fertilisers, soil testing, etc was also distributed through these FSCs.
