The camp was organized in collaboration with “Fondation Servir le Senegal”, the foundation headed by the First Lady of Senegal, Mrs. Mareme SALL on the request of Mr. Abdoul Aziz Mbaye, Minister of Culture of the Republic of Senegal from May 19-25, 2014 at Hospital Militaire De Ouakam, Dakar.
Eminent Doctor from Kanpur, Dr. Sharad Bajpai & his team of expert doctors from Kannika Hospital, Kanpur conducted the Eye Camp. The eye camp further strengthened the harmonious relations between the two nations at the local level and generated a lot of goodwill for IFFCO and Indian doctors. The activity brought a lot of relief to the patients suffering from serious chronic eye ailments. Its regular activity in India was monitored on a regular basis by Mr Yogendra Kumar, Zonal Manager(NC), IFFCO.
Mr. A.Diallo, CEO, ICS, Senegal in his e-mail thanked the IFFCO management and informed that Doctors successfully conducted 874 cataract operations and 315 eye tests apart from medicine distribution at Dakar, Senegal. He further informed that a similar eye camp was organized by Spanish Doctors few months ago but they could only treat 30-40 patients per day whereas Dr. Sharad Bajpai and his team successfully treated 218 patients per day.
